I am both a medievalist and a classicist.  Those occupations direct my life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  However, at some point, I want “wife” and “mother” to factor in, as well.

I am a recent college graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota after getting my B.A. in honors classics with an English minor.

I was a post-bacc student at the University of Washington in Seattle.

I am officially a grad student at Durham University in England, studying for my MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies (emphasis on the medieval, even though I love the Renaissance).  I have also begun my PhD applications for next year.

I grew up in Texas in Oklahoma, but am a Minnesotan at heart.  Don’t let me hear you call me a Southerner or say that I have a Southern twang, because I’m not and I don’t.  In fact, I think the word “ain’t” should be punishable by a fine in everyday life.

I’m a dreamer, a hoper, a believer, a thinker, a linguist, a friend, a daughter, an Episcopalian, an activist, a reader, a lover, a traveler, a woman, a passionate filmista, and a scholar.

I am me, and I wouldn’t change anything.

Comment on my posts or contact me as you see fit.  I promise, while I can be opinionated, I won’t bite!

I think you might be my new best friend I haven’t met yet. At least, based on your booklist! 🙂
